• Brigid’s monastery starts in 480—wooden, humble. She’s buried there in 525, her relics drawing pilgrims. By 850, Vikings threaten, so her skull moves to Downpatrick—but Kildare keeps humming. Around 900, a round tower rises; by 1223, a cathedral crowns her tomb site.
